Miss Indonesia was founded in 2005 by Mrs. Liliana Tanoesoedibjo, and has been broadcast exclusively on RCTI since its inception. Over the years, it has become one of the nation’s most respected platforms for showcasing Indonesian women of substance, character, and purpose.
More than just a beauty pageant, Miss Indonesia is a platform for character development and personal growth. Through this journey, each contestant is encouraged to explore her best qualities, hone her talents, and channel her abilities into making a meaningful, impactful, and positive contribution to society, the nation, and the world.
The Miss Indonesia program is built on four key pillars of assessment, represented by the acronym M-I-S-S:
Upholding the international vision of Beauty with a Purpose, Miss Indonesia is committed to shaping a generation of young women who are not only intelligent and graceful, but also socially conscious, culturally grounded, and dedicated to making a meaningful impact in their communities and beyond.
